Celebrating earning an Accreditation in Public Relations (APR)

I recently earned an accreditation in public relations (APR)! This achievement has been a long time coming—almost a year in the making—and I am incredibly grateful to finally hold this accreditation.

You might be wondering, why go through the APR process? After many years in public relations, I reached a point in my career where I felt that accreditation would not only validate my skills and experience, but also provide me with new opportunities for growth. The APR enhances my credibility and helps me connect with other professionals in the field, proving my commitment to continuous learning and excellence.

The process is intense – from a panel presentation presenting on a communications campaign to a three-hour examination to test your knowledge and skills.

For me, achieving the APR was an important professional goal. It’s a reminder to always aim high and keep reaching for the next milestone. This accreditation is more than just a title. It is a testament to hard work, dedication, and the pursuit of excellence in the public relations and communications industry.

Working with an accredited professional means collaborating with someone who has met high standards in the field of public relations. With only about 5,000 practitioners worldwide (2% of public relations practitioners) holding this accreditation, it is a prestigious and respected credential that signifies a strong commitment to excellence in public relations.

Earning the APR has been a fulfilling milestone, and I am excited to continue learning.
