Embracing Legacy: Following in My Family’s Footsteps Through Rotary

This week, my dad and I received the Legacy Rotarian Award from the Rotary Club of Flagler County. What an honor to be a father and daughter team in the same Rotary Club!

It is also a personal reminder of the importance of family legacy and the values instilled in me from a young age. Rotary has always been a significant part of my family’s life. This legacy of service has influenced my path, both personally and professionally.

Rotary’s projects often span generations, which makes being part of this ongoing effort incredibly rewarding.

Community service is about building networks. This philosophy is core to my approach in public relations and communications - creating connections that uplift and empower.

Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self,” is a guiding principle. It’s about putting the needs of others before your own and finding fulfillment in making a difference. This spirit drives my commitment to helping clients at Iris Communications tell their stories in impactful ways.

I hope to inspire my children to be a part of a larger legacy in the future. A legacy of service. So, one day, they too can make their own mark on the world.
